Approved by the bishop, the Charter & Bylaws define the organizational framework and general rules of the Diocese of Cleveland CYO.

CYO Charter & Bylaws

The CYO Charter and Bylaws (CBL) provides the organizational framework for the operation of CYO at the family, parish/school, and diocesan levels. The CBL is the governance document that identifies and articulates the shared duties and responsibilities of CYO Member Organizations, CYO Parents and Families, and CYO Central Administration for the operation of CYO.

The CYO Charter identifies the CYO mission, values, philosophy and membership for operating a Catholic youth sports program. The CYO Bylaws provide the operational guidelines and requirements for all parties to operate the CYO program. This includes eligibility, team and league formation, a code of conduct, coaches training, incident management and more.

The CYO Charter and Bylaws is a document of the Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland. It is reviewed, updated, and approved annually after input from all CYO constituencies. CYO administration retains the right and responsibility to make necessary changes to the Charter and Bylaws as needed.
