Catholic Charities Corporation Administrative Offices:
7911 Detroit AvenueCatholic Relief Services is the official humanitarian agency of the Catholic Church in the United States.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States to serve World War II survivors in Europe. Since then, we have expanded in size to reach more than 100 million people in around 100 countries on five continents every year.
Our mission is to assist our poorest brothers and sisters overseas, working in the spirit of Catholic social teaching to promote the sacredness of human life and the dignity of the human person. Although our mission is rooted in the Catholic faith, our operations serve people based solely on need, regardless of their race, religion or ethnicity. Within the United States, CRS engages Catholics to live their faith in solidarity with the poor and suffering people of the world.

Lenten Alms Change Lives
CRS Rice Bowl is the Lenten program of Catholic Relief Services, the official relief and development agency of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Through CRS Rice Bowl, faith communities in every diocese throughout the United States put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Lenten alms donated through CRS Rice Bowl support the work of CRS in roughly 45 different countries each year. 25% of all donations to CRS Rice Bowl stay in our diocese, supporting our Catholic Charities Emergency Hunger and Shelter Fund.
Since 2015 we have engaged parishioners from across our Diocese to animate their communities in the global work of our church. Ambassadors participate in several retreats/trainings a year during which they receive special training from CRS staff on the work of CRS and the skills of parish engagement to help strengthen our parish communities.

Join a powerful movement of advocacy and action to transform our world through the CRS Lead the Way Campaign. Leading the way begins now. We come together as a community and as individuals to pray, learn and take meaningful action to help those who suffer the most: migrants and refugees, communities that lack access to enough food and nutrition, and people living in poverty.
