Our camps are exciting, safe communities for children and pre-teens to explore, build confidence, develop skills, and make lasting friendships and memories so that they can grow as individuals and leaders.
Few environments are as special as Camp Christopher, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social, and educational activities. Our Day Camp teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership – all amidst the fun of swimming, canoeing, archery, talent shows, and making new friends!
Camp Christopher’s Day Camp offers a diverse, age-appropriate experience in a safe and fun outdoor environment. Day camp sessions are one week long, with a total of eight sessions. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities like those mentioned above as well as its 160 acres of woods and trails. Throughout the summer, we will incorporate the Catholic values of Camp Christopher into our activities and discussions. In addition to the normally scheduled camper activities, each week of camp will also have a theme that will serve to enhance the camper experience.
We separate our camp into two groups; the traditional program and our Adventure Day Camp. All campers will share the same program, meeting, and lunch space. Adventure Day Campers participate in advanced level activities throughout the day. We organize our camp with safety and developmental appropriateness as our greatest concerns. Each week, we divide campers into smaller groups (typically 12 or fewer campers/group) of similarly aged peers. Counselor assignments are reflective of the recommended staff ratios outlined in the standards of the American Camp Association. Each group has a schedule to follow throughout the day but returns to the Day Camp Pavilion by day’s end. Each group forms a mini-community throughout the week, enabling young people to spend consistent time together to help facilitate friendships.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.
Lunch is provided for Day Campers.
