7911 Detroit AvenueCamp Happiness provides social, recreational & educational services during the summer months to children ages 5 to 21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our camp staff consists of teachers, college students studying special education or a similar field, high school seniors and individuals with and without disabilities.
Staff members are trained according to standards required by the American Camp Association and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Ratio is 1 staff for every 4 campers as appropriate.
Serving as a counselor at Camp Happiness offers a rewarding 6-week experience to individuals interested in working with children with disabilities.
Individuals interested in becoming a counselor at Camp Happiness must be available to work the entire season. Applicants are subject to a personal interview, reference check, background checks, and BCII (Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigations) and FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) fingerprint checks.
