Catholic Charities offers both one-time and long-term volunteer opportunities.

One-time opportunities are a great way to get involved for a specific event, activity, or need.

Long-term opportunities allow you to serve on a regular basis. We welcome you to return and participate as often as your schedule allows.

Galaxy Digital is our volunteer platform. It allows you to create a volunteer profile, view current opportunities, and register for available shifts.

How do I find volunteer opportunities?

You can explore available opportunities through Galaxy Digital. Opportunities can be viewed in either list or calendar view, and each listing includes information such as the description, location, date, time, and availability.

What are the requirements to register?

Requirements vary depending on the volunteer opportunity. All volunteers must complete the required waivers during registration.

Background checks are required for long-term volunteer opportunities. Additional requirements, if applicable, will be listed with the individual volunteer opportunity.

Do I need to schedule a time to volunteer?

Yes. All volunteer opportunities are posted online and require registration. Sign up through Galaxy Digital, select your desired shift, and arrive at the assigned location on the scheduled date and time.

For long-term volunteer opportunities, a staff member with the designated program will be in touch to coordinate additional registration steps and assign a schedule.

Do I have to log my hours while volunteering?

Yes. Please record your volunteer hours in Galaxy Digital after each volunteer shift. Tracking your hours helps you see the impact of your service and allows us to recognize your hard work and support throughout the year!

If I forget to track my hours or log them incorrectly, can I adjust them later?

Yes. You can add or adjust your hours at any time.

To edit your hours, select Track Hours from the drop-down menu under your account icon, then select Add Hours and follow the prompts.

If you need to delete hours that were previously submitted, check the box next to the hours and select the trash can icon.

What if I have issues accessing my Galaxy Digital account or run into technical difficulties?

If you experience technical issues with the volunteer website or your account, please email volunteers@ccdocle.org with a detailed explanation of the issue. Our team will work to help you find a solution. 

Is there a dress code for volunteers?

We encourage you to dress comfortably in attire suitable for your assignment. Closed-toe shoes must be worn by all volunteers.

What is the age requirement to volunteer?

The preferred age for volunteers is 18 years and older. Opportunities for minors may be available depending on the location and required adult supervision.

Guardians will need to register for an account and complete a waiver granting permission for the minor to volunteer. Any age restrictions will be listed with the volunteer opportunity.

Can groups volunteer at Catholic Charities?

Yes, groups are encouraged to volunteer with Catholic Charities! Please contact our Volunteer Office at volunteers@ccdocle.org or 216.407-5793 to find the right volunteer activity for your group.

Do I need to be Catholic to volunteer with Catholic Charities?

No. At Catholic Charities, we welcome all volunteers, regardless of ethnicity, age, orientation or religious affiliation.
