The transition from childhood to adulthood can be difficult. Leadership Camp strives to make that transition a little easier.
The program is a two week camp for campers 17 years of age. Leadership Campers will receive instruction and training in CPR and First Aid as well as lifeguarding. They may receive certification for those skills if they are able to pass the American Red Cross tests for these classes.
Leadership Camp is a two-week program, with a break from Saturday to Sunday during which campers can go home to do laundry, rest, and visit with family. The first week is spent learning new skills and about the operations of the camp. The second week is where that new information is put into action. Campers reside in a cabin as an assistant to the cabin counselor and work with younger campers to lead them through their schedule during the week. Leadership campers have one chaperoned field trip during each week of the program. This experience can provide a platform from which these young people can step into employment in a variety of settings with greater confidence and competence.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.
We no longer require the physician’s authorization medical form except for campers with diabetes or epilepsy/seizures/convulsions.
Campers are required to go home at the end of the first week and return on Sunday for the second week.
