Job & Career Training currently offers the following trainings to those who have enrolled in our program and completed orientation.
Basic computer skills are essential when searching for employment in today's world.
We offer bi-weekly training sessions for individuals who have minimal computer skills so that they may begin to use a computer independently and complete common tasks related to job search or successful job placement.
In addition to learning how to use a keyboard, mouse and computer, individuals will also receive training and gain proficiency in the following systems & programs:
Basic Computer Training is available from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Do you enjoy helping people of all backgrounds in your community while promoting healthy living, self-care, and overall wellness? Community health workers serve as a link between health and social services and the community and assist others in accessing the resources they need to maintain their health.
We are looking for friendly, responsible individuals who respect the beliefs and traditions of others. Community health workers are positive role models in their communities and are motivated to teach others in a non-judgmental environment.

Our intensive Customer Service Training teaches individuals to think and act beyond traditional boundaries. Through this innovative training, participants learn both interpersonal communication and employment preparation skills so that they may feel confident and excel in the workplace. Participants can choose from two areas of customer service focus, Call Center, or Human Interaction.

Customer Service Training is a four-day intensive training that is only offered four times a year. It is typically offered once per quarter, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Thursday.

Job searching can be incredibly difficult, especially in today's competitive economic environment.
Job Club is a weekly meeting where individuals receive the resources and support vital to a successful job search. In Job Club, participants will be able to identify their skills and abilities, create job and career goals, perfect their resume, and meet with prospective employers.
Job Club is available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Our Professional Development Training provides participants with the knowledge needed to improve and increase their skills, obtain a new career, or prepare for new opportunities in their current role. During this training, participants will learn about various topics that will allow them to feel confident and excel in the workplace.

Participants may also choose from additional courses offered, including: Resume Reflections, Five Golden Rules of Goal Setting, Active vs. Passive Job Search, and Health and Wellness.

The above-listed trainings are available to consumers who have completed orientation and are enrolled in Job & Career Training at St. Philip Neri. Trainings are offered on select days and times, and consumers may need to meet certain requirements to participate in a specific training. The Early Child Care Education/Child Development Associate (CDA) is the most widely recognized credential in early child care education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE.
The CDA credential is based on a core set of competency standards that guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. CDA students will learn how to nurture the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social development of children.
Upon completion of the classroom hours, students will be prepared to begin working in a Step Up To Quality rated childcare center. Earning a CDA credential will enhance a student’s job opportunities and pay rate in the field.
Program Criteria
This 6-month program is open to applicants who have a high school diploma or equivalent AND a desire to work with children. Students are required to complete 120 classroom hours and 480 practicum to graduate from this program.
