Catholic Charities Corporation Administrative Offices:
7911 Detroit AvenueJob & Career Training at St. Philip Neri provides adults with education, training, and networking opportunities to help individuals find employment with local employers and businesses.
Upon completing orientation, individuals have access to the following services:
Individuals meet with an Employment Coordinator who conducts an overall assessment of the job seeker’s basic skills. This initial assessment identifies the individual's strengths, needs and barriers to employment, and also assists in setting individualized, long- and short-term career goals. The assessment will also be used throughout the course of the program to review job seeker progress towards self-sufficiency.
Every person enrolled in our program is assigned a case manager who assists in the participant's transition from education and training, to job search, placement and retention. Case managers also help our participants develop an Individualized Employment Plan (IEP), which aids our Employment Coordinators as they advocate for each job seeker through their transition. Upon securing employment, participants have access to case management services for up to 180 days to assist in any job placement issues that may arise or hinder job retention.
Our staff members work with participants to assess their individual job skills, preferences and interests to prepare them for the job search process and help them obtain suitable employment. We offer work adjustment support to all of our consumers who begin a new job to ensure long-term stability in employment.
Employee retention is critical to a business's success. Job & Career Training at St. Philip Neri works beyond the hiring process to ensure newly-employed individuals continue to meet their employers’ needs. Newly-placed employees are supported with a range of follow-up services, which help develop skills to understand and consistently meet employer expectations. We also offer retention workshops, which help consumers manage work-life balance as well as personal finances.
