Catholic Charities Corporation Administrative Offices:
7911 Detroit AvenueMatt Talbot was originally founded in 1965 by Father Berard Scarborough, O.F.M., as a halfway house for addicted men. He named it in honor of the Venerable Matt Talbot, an alcoholic from the age of 12, who became sober at the age of 28 with the help of God and his community.
The women's program was later founded in 1999 with the goal of providing substance abuse treatment for women with alcohol and/or other drug dependencies, offering education, counseling, and support for the newly-recovering woman and her family.
We focus on developing personal integrity and esteem by committing to an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle. Our hope at Catholic Charities is to restore the human spirit and empower men and women to gain dignity from living a responsible and productive life, valuing themselves and others.
At Matt Talbot Residential Treatment we also specialize in treating clients with a dual diagnosis of addiction and a mental health disorder, offering comprehensive treatment during a client's recovery journey.
Matt Talbot Residential Treatment serves both men and women in gender specific units regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, disability, or ability to pay.
