Parent Respite & Support

Through our partnership with the Ashland Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Wayne Board of Developmental Disabilities, Catholic Charities Parent Respite & Support program aids parents and caregivers of Ashland and Wayne Counties who could benefit from additional assistance.

Parent Respite & Support

• Serves families, individuals, and children of Ashland and Wayne Counties up to 22 years old registered with the Ashland County Board of Developmental Disabilities or the Wayne County Board of Developmental Disabilities
• Provides respite and support to parents, guardians, and families
• Provides temporary relief for primary caregivers by allowing them to take much-needed breaks within one's own home or at community-based outings
• Weekly appointments
• Builds trust and bonds
• Provides Triple P and Pax tools coaching to parents/guardians, which aid in parenting behavioral needs

How can Triple P and Pax tools coaching help?

• Address problem behavior and encourages behavior you like
• Form confident parents/guardians
• Improve the cooperation of children and the ability to manage one's own behaviors, as well as support social and emotional development
• Help set realistic parenting goals
• Enable self-care

Parenting Made Better Classes

Caregivers of children age 12 and under are welcome to a four night series to learn about topics such as positive parenting practices, building strong bonds, creating a calm environment, and more!
