Camp Christopher's Family Camp is a six-day, five-night program offered in June and August. For those people who enjoy the cold weather, a shorter session is offered in January.
Families nurture their relationships with each other during the family camp by working and living together in a new and different setting. By escaping everyday distractions in their normal environment, family members are able to focus on and listen to each other, improving their communication and interaction as a family and building stronger bonds with one another.
Families may book any available cabin that best meets their needs. Cabins are rustic yet provide adequate shelter from the elements. There is a flat fee to book the cabin. Each individual who resides in the cabin that weekend will also pay an individual fee. Fees cover all activities and meals.
All meals are prepared in the St. Francis Dining Hall and served family-style. Scheduled activities are offered every day, yet there is plenty of opportunities to relax and set your own pace. Camp counselors provide supervision during daytime activities as well as late-night supervision to children to enable parents to participate in adult night programs.
Camp Christopher provides an excellent opportunity for both experienced outdoorsmen and first-time campers. Each day provides opportunities for new adventures and new friendships. Campers may balance their time between activities they enjoy with age mates under the leadership and supervision of camp counselors and activities done with their family. Campers make friends during their age group sessions but return to their families throughout the day for meals and specific family activities.
