On May 6th, Bishop Edward Malesic is scheduled to ordain six men as deacons during Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
One of the six men being ordained is Catholic Charites’ own, Andy Davis.
Andy currently holds the position of Clinical Director for Behavioral Health Counseling for Summit County.
He is part of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Akron and is married to his wife Christine with five children, four daughters and one son.
As a permanent deacon, he will be assigned to a parish to assist the bishop and priests. His duties will include assisting at the Eucharist, distributing Holy Communion, baptizing, witnessing and blessing marriages, proclaiming the Gospel and preaching, presiding at funerals, and engaging in ministries of charity.
Congratulations Andy on this great achievement!
