Celebrating Women's History Month with Megan Kim

Posted March 28, 2023

March is recognized as Women’s History Month and Catholic Charities would like to highlight a few women who have made an impact within the organization.

Meet Megan Kim, Senior VP of Membership Development and Marketing for the Greater Cleveland Partnership.

Not only is Kim a Senior VP, but she also holds the position of Executive Director for the Council of Small Enterprises and Chair of the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities.

She started her journey with Catholic Charities back in 2017, serving meals to the men at Matt Talbot for Men.

“It was an absolutely amazing experience to see just how meaningful it was to these people, to see that others cared about them, that they had people who wanted to reach out and help them…” Kim said.

This sparked Kim’s interest in getting more involved with Catholic Charities.

“I loved that I had the opportunity to – to provide help to someone that was needing help, hope for people that needed hope, and just having people feel like someone cared about them,” Kim said.

After reaching out to see where else she could help, she became a part of the board of directors.

The board of directors guides organizational development through long-term planning, overseeing financial management, and ensuring Catholic Charities' accountability to the public.

“This organization does so much for so many people, and I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to be Chair and to make sure that we continue to do this amazing work for those most in need in the region,” Kim said.

To celebrate Women’s History Month, Kim sends letters to women in her life to thank them for everything they do and that they are being recognized for their accomplishments.

“I send special notes to a lot of the women in my life just celebrating them,” Kim said, “making sure that they are feeling a sense of pride in the things that they’ve accomplished…”

As the month is coming to an end, Kim wants to make it known that people should be celebrating women’s accomplishments throughout the year.

“…I think Women’s History Month is a way to put a spotlight on the women who have done that [worked hard], but continue to celebrate those women throughout the year and also learn from them and their accomplishments,” Kim said.

Thank you, Megan, for setting an example for all women and inspiring those within Catholic Charities every day!
