Tom and Margaret Lynch demonstrated an incredible commitment to the mission and values of the St. Augustine Health Ministries and Catholic Charities.
The Lynches regularly participated in activities benefitting the St. Augustine Health Campus, lovingly sharing their time, talents, warmth, and resources. Tom’s experience as a CPA and Principal in a large accounting firm helped to provide Catholic Charities with a great deal of advice, counsel, and direction in all fiscal areas over the years.
Margaret served on the board of St. Augustine Manor. Additionally, Margaret created the Coterie as a Women’s Auxiliary serving the patients and residents of St. Augustine Manor. With membership of over 50 dedicated women, residents received regular visitation and assistance along with special programs such as a Christmas Craft Fair. Margaret acted as President of the Board of the Coterie of St. Augustine Manor for many years while Tom served as the Treasurer.
Tom also served as a Board member for several different terms with the Catholic Charities Appeal Board and the St. Augustine Health Campus Board of Trustees.
Tom and Margaret together helped conceive and initiate the annual “Top of the Towers” fundraising event, which remains a lasting hallmark of their service to the mission of Catholic Charities. The event benefitted St. Augustine Health Campus significantly. The event was a premier social and public relations event in the entire Catholic Charities System. Of special note, in 2007, the Lynches co-chaired the event, helping to raise more than $140,000.
Their dedication on behalf of the residents of St. Augustine Manor and St. Augustine Towers has helped bolster a unique, mission-driven system of care for the injured, chronically ill, and aging of our community. Tom and Margaret’s fundraising efforts have helped create a vibrant living environment for the residents of the St. Augustine Health Campus, giving residents access to state-of-the-art recreation facilities and a plethora of opportunities allowing them to continue exploring their faith and creativity. The Lynch’s generosity of spirit is still unmistakably alive at the St. Augustine Health Campus, where its residents continue to benefit in an environment dedicated to their ongoing belonging to and engagement with their community.
