As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we complete our series of acknowledgments with Karnese McKenzie, Director of St. Martin de Porres and 15-year employee of Catholic Charities.
Karnese’s days start early and end late as she works to support the work of the St. Martin de Porres Family Center. Her days are filled with a multitude of meetings and administrative tasks, including following up with emails and phone calls, working on RFPS, and completing reports. You can almost certainly find Karnese power walking throughout the building as she checks in with her staff, responds to requests, and engages with the participants of the center’s various programs. Karnese’s favorite thing about her job is being able to serve others and being a servant leader to her team. Her greatest accomplishment is being able to help community residents, creating programming to address the needs of the community effectively, and strengthening the center’s image throughout the Glenville community.
