*Emergency Assistance Services Intake Support: St. Martin de Porres Family Center is currently looking for an individual available to volunteer remotely, from Monday through Friday for at least 20 hours a week. Intake support volunteers assist clients with our Emergency Assistance Services intake process. Volunteers speak with clients over the phone, request documentation, and input detailed client information into a fillable PDF and Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Interested volunteers should be detail-oriented, good communicators and able to multi-task. Volunteers should also be proficient in Microsoft Office, have a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Reader, and must have access to a computer and telephone.
In-person and Zoom training are available for this opportunity.
Food Pantry Stocking Assistance: Help unload morning pantry deliveries on the third Monday of every month. Interested volunteers should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. After unloading, volunteers stock the shelves then pre-pack bags with non-perishable food items for client pick up.
Food Pantry Distribution: Pre-pack pantry bags with perishable food times every third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. After packing pantry bags, volunteers assist in distribution during client pick-up hours. Interested volunteers should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and have availability on the above listed days from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Older Adult Services Home-Delivered Meals: Pack frozen meals and other perishable food items for delivery to homebound and seniors in need. Volunteers also accompany drivers on delivery routes and assist with door-to-door drop-offs. Interested volunteers should be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
