Catholic Charities Corporation Administrative Offices:
7911 Detroit Avenue“Hire the best people you can find. Create an atmosphere that will keep them. Then let them do their jobs.” These words of Frank Sullivan guide Michelle Kipfstuhl, the director of Catholic Charities Community Services of Medina County. Michelle’s mission as director is to honor the dignity of the person, both clients and staff.
In addition to supporting her team, Michelle is responsible for the creation and expansion of the food shelf that now serves over 350 people per month. During COVID, the Medina office started to supply formula and diapers, a service that has continued. Her work writing grants and facilitating relationships with funders, has expanded families’ access to fresh produce. Most notably, she procured funding for the creation of a free garden plot.
Michelle has spent thirty-one years meeting the needs of children and families. Prior to becoming the director of Catholic Charities Community Services of Medina County, Michelle worked with school systems throughout the area. Through Catholic Charities, she spent ten years as the coordinator of the Child Assault Prevention (CAP) program; in this position, she served seven school districts and three private schools. For fourteen years, she ran prevention workshops to health classes across Medina County.
Michelle holds a BA in Social Service from Cleveland State. She is a licensed social worker, and has Early Childhood Professional, Level IV certification from the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA). Additionally, she is a member of Leadership Medina County’s LEAD (Leadership Exploration And Development) Institute program.
